Mission: The heart of Lit is about gathering an army of college students and twenty-somethings who desire to make an impact in their city by the power of Christ's love in us.
Description: LIT (Love In Transit) is a united body of college and twenty-somethings in the city who want to see Austin impacted by the power of God's unconditional love. We are not tied to a specific church denomination. Austin desperately needs more followers of Jesus Christ to become passionate "doers of the word" (James 1:22) and that is exactly what Lit is designed to do - intercede for a generation of young adults to be risen up, trained in apologetics and outreach, then sent out to show Austin what the gospel looks like in action. Our Tuesday Night gatherings consist of prayer, worship, training and "small-groups" with the challenge to then go apply what we have learned. What we are about can be summed up in one powerful word: LOVE! Love of God is the greatest commandment in the Bible, followed by the second-greatest, which is to love everyone around us. God's word says if we don't have love we have nothing; our love must be sincere. We also learn from Jesus' brother James that faith without works of love in action is dead faith. So the heart of Lit is about gathering an army of college students and twenty-somethings who desire to make an impact in their city by the power of Christ's love in us. We deeply desire to do less talking and more walking. We are taking our faith into the community in humility, in boldness, in love, and praying for God to transform the hearts of our generation. Lit is designed to be outreach intensive and we prepare for our outreach by gathering weekly and receiving the Spirit and Truth of God as our fuel to press forward in action. Our vision is to build unity with other college/20's groups and Austin area ministries who have a like-minded passion and are ready to go into battle with us. Together we are a stronger force against our enemy's strongholds. Just as we have one body with many parts (Romans 12:12), the better we can work together the better we work, period.
